CSAs, Backyard Chickens, Urban Homesteading and More, Tuesday

Be sure to stop by our Friends & Neighbors Meeting Tuesday evening. As always, we'll have updates on what's going on. But this meeting will also be your opportunity to learn about slow foods, the localize movement, and efforts to create a community garden in our midst!

Roy Nordblom, green building consultant, will talk about the "eat local" movement that is already happening in our own backyard

Debbie Palmer worked for an organic CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm for over ten years and can answer just about any question you may have on the topic.

Debbie has also embarked on 'the backyard chicken' thing and is up for talking about that too. Already got chickens? Please come to the meeting and tell us your stories! Let's share what we know.

This will be a fun, informal discussion with plenty of Q&A time. It will start at 6:30 at Word of Faith Church on the corner of Delmas and Fuller. Be sure to bring your questions for Roy and Debbie. It's sure to be interesting.

  1. Hi I'm on Minnesota & Minnesota(almost Alma) so I'm not sure if we're in your hood. But we're urban farmers, have chickens and my husband is also a beekeeper www.bluemoonbees.com with 9 hives in our backyard. This sounds awesome!
