38 Street Trees Planted Today

Thirty-eight street trees took to the soil today, in North Willow Glen and also in Gardner in our first cooperative planting. Thanks go to the community volunteers, to Our City Forest, and all who signed up to get a free street tree. Special thanks also to San Jose Beautiful for grant money to break up concrete in parking strips (so we could plant trees), to the volunteers from City Year who loaded over 300 sq ft of concrete onto trucks , to SJ Neighborhood Services and the SJ Conservation Corps who hauled it away. To sign up for our next planting, go to http://trees.northwillowglen.org

Great job with the tree planting, Ken! I wish I could have helped out but Jim, Caroline and I were enjoying a much-needed long weekend at a cabin near Yosemite. Congratulations on adding 38 new trees to our 'hood.

Rhonda Berry of Our City Forest now only needs to plant 999,962 more trees to satisfy her million tree goal!
